The Petrojarl I FPSO has undergone a complete modification. Over 50% of the process equipment on board has been removed and replaced with new equipment to make the FPSO suitable for the Atlanta field. All this had to be done in accordance with the most stringent specifications and Brazilian compliance requirements.
With most of the scrapped equipment replaced by much larger equipment and new equipment added, the space on the original upper deck was no longer adequate. Solutions had to be found outside these confines. The new e-house was eventually placed on the stern above the existing control room. New process equipment was placed on the main deck, and we found a place for the new air-conditioning system between the front firewall and the dome/roof. All disciplines had to work closely to achieve this within the tight schedule. Nevesbu and Iv were challenged to manage all interfaces correctly and efficiently while maintaining close communication with the classification society throughout the project to ensure approval as early as possible.
As subcontractors to Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam, Nevesbu and Iv were responsible for much of the engineering. By joining forces, we could apply our expertise in naval architecture, marine engineering, process, structural and piping engineering and arrange the procurement of all necessary equipment.
Bart, managing director of Nevesbu, would be delighted to discuss this with you! Get in touch via +31 88 943 3400 or send a message
