Willem-Alexander Sports Park

Willem-Alexander Sports Park, uniquely located above the A4 motorway, offers a new dimension to urban sports facilities. Iv played a role in the realisation of this project by providing installation advice for the sports hall, the striking sports canopy and the parking garages. This project demonstrates the innovative use of space, where sport and leisure come together in an unusual but effective location.

The main challenge for Iv on this project was to design and implement safe and efficient installations for the exceptionally long sports canopies of over 220 metres. This required precise calculations and smart choices regarding electrical cable diameters and contact safety. Given the complexities of building over a busy motorway, the project required a high level of technical expertise. Despite these challenges, Iv focused on delivering installations that met the required standards.

Iv’s work resulted in the realisation of essential installations crucial to the functionality of the Willem-Alexander Sports Park. By placing the sports facilities above a motorway, the project makes innovative use of the available space. This project represents a technical triumph and is a source of inspiration for future urban development projects.
