How do we ensure that dyke improvements remain compatible and affordable? How do we make the Netherlands climate-proof? At Iv, we love complex technical challenges. As a Water Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for the water safety task in numerous projects. In collaboration with other consultants and designers, you will work on both primary and regional flood defences, including flood defence civil engineering works. You will create new opportunities and realise innovations and sustainable solutions by deviating from the familiar paths. You are the substantive point of contact within the various projects and are responsible for the approach, substantive supervision of colleagues and quality. In addition, you will maintain and develop knowledge in water safety. In short, you will ensure we repeatedly solve the water safety puzzle.

* We kindly ask agencies and recruiters not to respond to this vacancy.

What do we expect from you?

You must have a higher vocational/university level degree (HBO/WO) in Civil Engineering and at least five years of work experience in flood defences. You have a keen eye for quality, can independently fulfil and/or coordinate the flood risk management task within multidisciplinary projects, and feel at ease in projects for the government and contractors. You must also be familiar with the most current developments in the statutory assessment instruments (WBI 2017) and the design instruments (OI 2014). Demonstrable affinity and/or experience with standard packages such as the D-Series, QGIS, ArcGIS and hydra models is an advantage and preferably knowledge of Plaxis 2D and/or 3D.

You can also support and guide colleagues thanks to your extensive knowledge and experience. However, we consider your drive and enthusiasm to be equally important. Therefore, regardless of your regular work location (Haarlem or Sliedrecht), you must also be willing to work at other locations.

What do we have to offer you?

A challenging job at the most diverse engineering company in the Netherlands! You will join an organisation that works on the most exceptional and technically complex issues in seven different markets worldwide. These are projects that not even the cleverest of specialists can simply just solve. Every day delivers a new challenge, and we ensure that employees continue to develop their talents. Besides technology, we also love to have fun! For example, visiting the UEFA European Championships and FIFA World Cup are a few of Iv's traditions!
