Lead Engineer Civil & Structural

From foundations beneath heavy process installations to steel structures for new factories as a Lead Engineer you deliver smart designs and lead a well-organised team. You take on responsibility, operate at a strategic level, and ensure that engineering, planning and execution come together.

Iv provides integrated engineering for the construction and upgrade of factories, installations, utilities and buildings. We also support clients in translating biobased processes into fully functional installations. In these projects, you play a central role. You bring together technology, people and execution, anticipate what’s ahead and structure the work into clear steps. You stay close to the content and make practical decisions that work in the real world.

From start to finish, you take the lead in your projects. You divide tasks within the team, monitor progress and ensure that design, safety, planning and cost are all in balance. You translate client requirements into feasible solutions, including technical descriptions and contract documents. You’ll also liaise with suppliers, clients and permitting authorities. Reviewing documents, overseeing inspections and making timely adjustments are part of your role. Colleagues come to you for technical discussions or project coordination.

You’ll be working in the Building & Construction department at Iv in Haarlem or Arnhem, alongside a team of about 20 colleagues – lead engineers, structural engineers and designers. The team is technically strong, open, and focused on quality. Everyone supports one another. In this role, you report to the department head and are given the space to apply your experience and grow further in your career.

What do we expect from you?

• A completed bachelor’s degree in architecture or structural engineering
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of both architectural and structural engineering
• Experience in preparing contract documents and quotations
• Strong command of both Dutch and English
• A decisive, clear communicator who enjoys collaboration
