Do impressive projects such as the IJmuiden Sea Lock or the Oosterweel link (the new ring road near Antwerp) make your heart beat faster? Do you want to help make the Netherlands more sustainable by building the largest wind farms and extending the life of infrastructure, and would you like to work on large-scale dike reinforcements to ensure that the Netherlands remains dry and safe? Then come and work with us as a Cost Specialist. For larger multidisciplinary projects, your role will be central to the establishment of integral project costs.

 

You will prepare complete cost estimates based partly on input from the team's cost specialists. Advising sector heads, project managers, and project leaders will be at the heart of your role as a cost specialist at Iv. Of course, that is not all. Your role also involves identifying and advising on sizeable and/or risky components, and you will also be partly responsible for determining the strategy and associated actions. You understand the importance of motivating, guiding, coaching and advising project leaders and project managers on cost. As a Cost Specialist, you are a vital link in the design process, and you enjoy communicating and collaborating effectively at all levels.

Iv provides tailor-made and innovative designs and advice for constructing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. You may already be familiar with our involvement in the new IJmuiden sea lock, the Zandhazen Bridge or the design of the Panama Canal lock gates. By developing and applying the latest technologies, we offer ready-made and sustainable solutions for not only today's societal challenges but also those of tomorrow! We provide integral advice for steel and concrete civil engineering works, hydraulic engineering, spatial planning, upkeep, traffic and infrastructure installations and railways. We also offer specialist services in spatial measurement and monitoring structures, RAMS and risk management, asset management, systems engineering, contract management, project management, and supervision.

What do we expect from you?

You have a higher vocational/university level degree (HBO/WO) in a Civil or Business Administration/Economic field and five to ten years of work experience as a cost specialist, preferably in the Civil Engineering sector. In addition, you have extensive experience in calculating multidisciplinary projects with a minimum contract value of 25 million euros. With your experience and expertise, we assume you have strong skills in performing numerical analyses and working accurately. As with all our projects throughout Iv, you will also receive the freedom to develop and put forward your own creative solutions. Unsurprisingly, our work sometimes involves working under (time) pressure and tight deadlines, but neither is a problem for you.
