Our projects range from preparing road infrastructure and mobility solutions to area development and water safety projects. We strive to positively impact the living environment and improve mobility in the Netherlands. We do this by developing both urban and rural areas in a sustainable, climate-proof and water-robust way. Our integral projects are characterised by their complexity. Examples of projects include 'Improvement of road safety on the N223', 'Development of the Valkenhorst area' and 'Reinforcement of the Havendijk in Den Helder'.
As a Strategic Environmental Manager for Area Renewal, you will play a crucial role in preparing and implementing our plan and route studies. You are the link between the administrative partners, policymakers, social organisations and citizens. You will work closely with our clients and project managers, providing them with strategic environmental insight based on the stakeholder force field you have created for the project. Your environmental advice will help build support and successfully achieve a legally and planning-approved design. Together, we will shape this position, which will, in any case, include the following tasks and responsibilities:
· Developing strategic environmental management within our projects and organisation.
· Ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as public authorities, citizens and (social) organisations.
· Properly following the necessary procedures and obtaining the necessary permits to realise the project.
· Coordinating the conditioning studies in collaboration with the technical manager.
· Guiding junior environmental managers in carrying out operational environmental management.
· Coordinating interfaces between environmental management and sustainability with other project team members.
· Providing support in tender processes.
Iv provides tailor-made and innovative designs and advice for constructing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. You may already be familiar with our involvement in the new IJMuiden sea lock, the Zandhazen Bridge or the design of the Panama Canal lock gates. By developing and applying the latest technologies, we offer ready-made and sustainable solutions for not only today's societal challenges but also those of tomorrow! We provide integral advice for steel and concrete civil engineering works, hydraulic engineering, spatial planning, upkeep, traffic and infrastructure installations and railways. We also offer specialist services in spatial measurement and monitoring structures, RAMS and risk management, asset management, systems engineering, contract management, project management, and supervision.
You have a university (WO) degree in Public Administration, Town & Country Planning, Law or similar and have an affinity with infrastructure and our living environment. You have at least five years of work experience in a similar infrastructure or area development position. Experience with the High Water Protection Programme (HWBP) is a plus. You are a content-driven environmental manager and have experience working in multidisciplinary teams. Furthermore, you have knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and experience in permitting procedures. You are a strong communicator with the ability to liaise effectively between different stakeholders. You are solution-oriented and want to work within an integral approach to land use and quality of life.
