Dry feet throughout the Netherlands, you've got it covered!
Do you want to contribute to protecting the Netherlands against flooding and nuisance flooding? By making dike reinforcements visible, implementable and applicable, your input will play a vital role in your role as a hydraulic engineering modeller
As a hydraulic engineering modeller, you will design flood defences and structures at all development levels using design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Revit. You will work closely with structural engineers, designers, drafters and modellers within our organisation and report to the project leader or design leader. Maintaining regular contact with clients and other parties will also form part of your work. You will, therefore, form an essential link in the design and environmental process, from idea to realisation.
In addition to your work as a modeller, you will be closely involved in project preparation and environmental management. As part of project preparation, you will work with the work planner to translate the design into a RAW specification or UAV-GC contract. During the environmental management phase, you will collaborate with the environmental manager to produce visuals and explain the design of the dike reinforcement to stakeholders. The work package will also be based on your preferences, and we will develop this together during your first year at Iv.
We are currently working on projects such as dike reinforcement in the city of Tiel, reinforcement of the Havendijk in Den Helder, dike reinforcement of the Krachtige IJsseldijken Krimpenerwaard, dike reinforcement of the Canalised Hollandsche IJssel North and reinforcing the dikes in Willemstad Noordschans. These projects are all part of the High Water Protection Programme (HWBP). In addition, we carry out numerous assessments and reinforcement projects on regional flood defences throughout the country, such as the Amsteldijk. We are also involved in the improvement of various regional flood defences within the Delfland District Water Control Board, from variant study and sketch design to implementation design. We work on the above projects independently and in collaboration with other engineering companies.
Iv provides tailor-made and innovative designs and advice for constructing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. You may already be familiar with our involvement in the new IJmuiden sea lock, the Zandhazen Bridge or the design of the Panama Canal lock gates. By developing and applying the latest technologies, we offer ready-made and sustainable solutions for not only today's societal challenges but also those of tomorrow! We provide integral advice for steel and concrete civil engineering works, hydraulic engineering, spatial planning, upkeep, traffic and infrastructure installations and railways. We also offer specialist services in spatial measurement and monitoring structures, RAMS and risk management, asset management, systems engineering, contract management, project management, and supervision.
You have a higher vocational education (HBO) in civil engineering, water management, or something similar and an affinity for water safety and our living environment. Experience with drawing and modelling software is a plus but not a requirement. You will gain knowledge on the job through projects, guidance from experienced modellers and courses. Sustainability and automation are topics that appeal to you. Furthermore, you have strong analytical skills, an eye for sustainability and quality, and thrive on working in teams. We consider your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn equally important, as this will help you and us shape your development in this fascinating field.
Regardless of your fixed location (Haarlem or Sliedrecht), you are willing to work from different locations.
