Your work has an impact

By working together, we (literally) underpin the structures on which we work across the entire spectrum of our infrastructure. We do this by being part of the chain from conceptual and innovative solutions to implementation design and site engineering. We aim to achieve the best possible result for the queries we receive from our clients. Our work covers foundation structures, dry infrastructure, water safety and environmental impact.

We receive queries from governmental, semi-governmental, and private parties, such as the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat), water boards, municipalities, provinces, contractors, and private individuals. By serving this wide range of clients, our projects are both diverse and complex. In our projects, we strive for maximum sustainability at minimum cost and proactively advise our clients on these issues. Examples of challenges we are currently working on include the design of the foundation structures for the Oosterweel Link – the Antwerp ring road, the design of a 10-metre-high noise barrier along the A20 motorway and an analysis of the stability of the embankments along the Amsterdam-Rhine canal.

As a Junior Geotechnical Consultant, you will work on a variety of diverse and multidisciplinary projects under the supervision of experienced colleagues, such as consultants, structural engineers, designers and project managers. As a consultant, your work will include calculation, design and reporting. The projects you will work on include (movable) structures, hydraulic structures, water safety and infrastructure works for various types of clients. You will build up your knowledge through projects, guidance from experienced colleagues, courses and technical literature. In the long term, you will have contact with the client, monitor your own planning, and have the possibility to develop into an independent consultant or project leader. There are also opportunities for growth within the Iv organisation, which comprises many areas of work. Within the projects, you will be the point of contact for geotechnical issues alongside experienced geotechnical consultants.

Iv provides tailor-made and innovative designs and advice for constructing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. You may already be familiar with our involvement in the new IJmuiden sea lock, the Zandhazen Bridge or the design of the Panama Canal lock gates. By developing and applying the latest technologies, we offer ready-made and sustainable solutions for not only today's societal challenges but also those of tomorrow! We provide integral advice for steel and concrete civil engineering works, hydraulic engineering, spatial planning, upkeep, traffic and infrastructure installations and railways. We also offer specialist services in spatial measurement and monitoring structures, RAMS and risk management, asset management, systems engineering, contract management, project management, and supervision.

What do we expect from you?

You have a higher vocational/university degree (HBO/WO) in civil engineering. If you have a degree in earth sciences or physical geography and are willing to undertake the CGF1 training, you are also very welcome to apply. You have strong analytical skills, an eye for sustainability and quality, and thrive on working in teams. We consider your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn equally important, as this will help you and us shape your development in this fascinating field.

Regardless of your fixed location (Sliedrecht, Nieuwegein or Haarlem), you are willing to work from different locations.
