Keeping bridges and tunnels in top condition
From bridges and locks to storm surge barriers and quay walls, as a Junior Inspector at Iv, you will ensure that structures continue to do what they should.
The ideal candidate likes variety and enjoys working both indoors and outdoors. When working outdoors, you will literally be out in the field. You will conduct on-site inspections of bridges, tunnels, and locks and assess the technical condition of these structures. With the help of advanced measurement and inspection methods, you will accurately map the condition of objects. If you spot damage or wear, you must report it immediately and ensure timely action is taken. Not to be overlooked: you will receive a field allowance for working outside.
Indoors, you will analyse damage and risks and produce concise reports. Your technical knowledge will assist you in advising clients such as the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat), provinces, municipalities and industrial and port companies on effective asset management strategies. In this way, you will improve the quality and reliability of the Dutch infrastructure. Where necessary, you will coordinate activities with subcontractors and external parties to ensure that projects run efficiently and according to plan.
You will join the Inspection, Research & Consultancy team within the Asset Management sector. The team comprises around 20 people, including inspectors, senior inspectors, consultants, and project leaders. The mix of experience and young talent will ensure you learn a lot. Not so experienced? No problem. We will help you grow in your role by providing excellent coaching and guidance, allowing you to develop and become an expert in no time.
