Compliance Officer

Balancing rules and reality

Would you like to contribute to a safe and ethical business operation where legislation and regulation go hand in hand with efficient processes? The compliance function is currently spread across several layers of the organisation. As Compliance Officer, it’s your role to shape risk management and compliance from a central position.

You’ll oversee compliance with laws and regulations such as the GDPR, HIPAA and anti-money laundering legislation, translating legal changes into practical internal guidelines. You’ll carry out audits, draft policies, and ensure we adhere to our corporate standards. By developing, implementing and enforcing internal procedures, you provide clarity and control. You identify potential risks at an early stage and advise on how to mitigate them, ensuring our projects are not only innovative but also compliant.

You’ll directly contribute to a reliable and transparent organisational culture. You’ll work independently and proactively across a broad field, maintaining close contact with colleagues in our Infra & Water, Buildings, Industry, Maritime, and Energy & Offshore sectors. You’ll report to the Senior Legal Counsel. The team culture is informal and supportive. We trust in each other’s expertise and are always willing to help.

What do we expect from you?

• A completed bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law
• Preferably certified by the Netherlands Compliance Institute
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, anti-money laundering laws)
• You are honest, objective, and communicate clearly
• You are able to balance compliance with operational efficiency
