Civil Structural Engineer

Bring stability to every calculation

You look beyond the design: as a Civil Structural Engineer at Iv, you ensure that structures not only function but also perform. You calculate, assess and substantiate solutions for complex concrete structures in infrastructure projects. Whether it’s a sunken road section, a railway viaduct or a bridge with moving parts – you make sure the structure is technically sound and feasible.

You’ll be responsible for analysing concrete structures, developing models and independently performing calculations for elements such as foundations, reinforcement and stability. You’ll work across various project phases – from preliminary design to construction-ready – combining analytical strength with practical insight. Digital tools and parametric design are naturally integrated into your workflow.

Beyond your technical contributions, you’ll also support and guide colleagues within the project team. You’ll review calculations, contribute to quality assurance and collaborate closely with designers, modellers and clients. You’ll coordinate with other disciplines and provide technically substantiated input for integrated design challenges.

You’ll work from our office or on-site as part of an open and technically strong team with an informal atmosphere. At Iv, you’ll collaborate with specialists from a wide range of fields, with plenty of opportunities to apply and expand your expertise.

What do we expect from you?

• A university of applied sciences (HBO) or academic (WO) degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience as a structural engineer in civil infrastructure projects
• Skilled in performing calculations for concrete structures, foundations and reinforcement
• Familiar with DIANA and/or SCIA Engineer software
• Able to independently analyse, calculate and provide technical advice
• You support and mentor colleagues and contribute to quality assurance
• You are analytical, precise, communicative and a strong team player
• You speak fluent Dutch
