Puzzling over almost impossible challenges

As a structural engineer at Iv, you will work on projects that are highly complex and socially relevant. Think of the structural engineering of a new nitrogen plant, the foundations of storage tanks at a water treatment plant or the renovation of a steel structure in a chemical plant. This is not standard work, but puzzling over almost impossible challenges.

You will make structural calculations and designs for concrete and steel structures. You will translate technical requirements into feasible and safe solutions, tailored to practical circumstances. You will consult with colleagues from other disciplines and liaise with clients, project leaders and contractors. You will also remain involved on site: you will identify bottlenecks and contribute ideas for solutions.

In this position, you will make a direct contribution to the industry of tomorrow. You will ensure manufacturability in environments where standstill is not an option. Collaboration is central – as is a culture of collegiality in which everyone helps each other grow. We work on mono- and multidisciplinary projects – individually where necessary, together where required. The atmosphere is professional and accessible. You will be joining the Building & Construction team in Arnhem or Haarlem. A multidisciplinary team of around 20 engineers, structural engineers and designers with a shared passion for technology and quality. The atmosphere? What do we expect from you?

• A higher professional education or university degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a structural engineer

• Knowledge of Eurocode and current standards

• Experience with steel and concrete structures, preferably in an industrial context

• Experience with design and calculation programmes such as Idea StatiCa and SCIA

• You are eager to learn, self-critical and always focused on collaboration

• You speak and write Dutch well
