The supply of offshore wind energy needs to increase worldwide. In addition to private consumers, heavy industry and the transport sector are expected to drive demand for green electricity. However, intensifying offshore wind power poses challenges for processing and distributing the energy generated. New connections with even greater capacity are required to maintain a high level of supply security. A key principle in expanding offshore wind energy supply is that energy must remain affordable. The environmental impact must also be minimal.
Iv has been involved in offshore wind since its earliest developments in 2002. We have designed many offshore wind platforms that provide sustainable energy to millions of homes. Examples include Dolwin Alpha, Borssele and Ostwind & Gennaker. We are currently designing the ‘new generation’ of offshore wind platforms. Platforms with even greater capacity, such as the IJmuiden Ver platform. We also designed an innovative concept for a floating offshore substation, for which we have been awarded several patents. In short, we offer a wide range of services in the offshore wind sector. We have expert knowledge of HVDC/AC platforms, wind turbine generators, floating transformer platforms, control & communication and handling equipment for the (de)installation of offshore equipment. We offer advice ranging from feasibility studies to the implementation and execution of all engineering and procurement activities within (EPCI) projects. In addition, we also provide operations and maintenance support.
Over the years, we have built up an impressive track record of projects in the offshore wind market.
