Sustainable solutions to climate challenges

The impact of greenhouse gases is much greater than first thought. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Arctic Ocean could be ice-free by the summer of 2030. Previous predictions were between 2040 and 2100. Not only is this much sooner than expected, but it is also an irreversible process. As the climate changes, extreme weather events such as heatwaves, drought and flooding are becoming more frequent. We cannot ignore this: we must adapt our environment accordingly. We need to protect ourselves from water hazards and adjust our water systems. We also need to explore alternative methods to ensure our drinking water supply in the future.

Tackling climate adaptation integrally

We face the challenge of identifying the vulnerabilities of our living environment and addressing them sustainably. But what is the most (cost-effective) solution for each issue in the short, medium and long term? And what is the right balance of measures? By applying an integral approach, Iv helps create an environment where we can live, work and be comfortable, now and in the future, despite the changing climate.

Projects

Iv works worldwide on unique projects that are of great importance to society. From offshore wind platforms, unique bridges and the world’s largest lock gates to buildings, factories, water treatment plants, container cranes and more.
