The sea offers many opportunities for generating energy. In addition to the familiar ‘bottom-founded’ platforms and wind turbines, energy can be generated with floating structures near shore and deeper at sea. Such structures include floating wind turbines, floating solar farms, floating production and transformer platforms, and production vessels such as FPSOs. Iv designs these structures, including new construction, modifications, and conversions of existing structures. We aim to work with clients to develop innovative, reliable and future-proof solutions that ensure a continuous supply of sustainable energy at an acceptable cost.
Once at sea, floating energy solutions need to perform optimally. In other words, production processes must proceed continuously with the highest degree of safety and reliability. There is no room for surprises. Iv ensures this by incorporating its high level of expertise in steel and mechanical engineering, naval architecture, systems integration, process equipment, piping, hydrodynamics, risk analysis, asset management, transport and installation into designs. To maximise returns, an integral design must be achieved that enables construction, installation and offshore operations to be carried out at minimum cost and with manageable risk. Iv supports clients from the feasibility study through to the final design. In addition to design, we also take care of purchasing, classification processing and construction supervision.
Over the years, we have built up an impressive track record of projects in the floating energy sector.
