From the outside, you see steel, cables and installations. But what makes it all work together lies in the control systems. As a SCADA Engineer at Iv, you will develop the systems behind our offshore substations.
You will be responsible for the detailed design and implementation of SCADA systems within major wind energy projects. In your role as a SCADA engineer, you set up complete networks and communication structures, ensuring that installations operate safely, reliably, and are future-proof. Each design you produce incorporates aspects such as redundancy, optimisation and data handling, translating technical requirements into practical, buildable solutions. You’ll work closely with specialists in fields such as electrical engineering, automation and cybersecurity.
As a SCADA Engineer, you will be part of multidisciplinary project teams of 5 to 10 people. You’ll coordinate technical matters with the project manager and report to the discipline manager on other aspects. You’ll join the instrumentation engineering team, comprising around 30 colleagues. The atmosphere is both international and results-driven: we combine global expertise with a hands-on, can-do approach typical of Rotterdam.
A degree (BSc or MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or Computer Engineering.
A minimum of five years’ experience working with SCADA systems.
Experience with the engineering aspects of the EPC process (e.g. datasheets, specifications, TBE and FAT), as well as detailed engineering for greenfield projects.
Preferably, you have additional certifications or training in SCADA systems (e.g. Siemens, GE, ABB), industrial communication protocols or network technology.
You are solution-oriented, able to work independently and take ownership of your work.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
