Decommissioning in Australia

Iv supported decommissioning studies of an offshore platform in Western Australia. This included weight reconciliation, jacket removal studies and technical analysis models, providing the engineering evidence required for the safe decommissioning and removal of the platform.

The large offshore structure had been in operation since 1986 and, after decades of service, had to be safely removed. For assets of this scale, establishing their current condition is essential. Weight data, structural assumptions and removal scenarios must all be verified before major offshore lifting operations can be carried out safely. The decommissioning scope included the removal of the topsides, weighing approximately 1,440 tonnes, and the jacket, weighing approximately 1,480 tonnes.

Iv’s engineering and analysis contributed to the platform being successfully removed from Australian waters.
