NTA 8790 assessment – Ziggo Dome

Commissioned by Amsterdam Music Dome Properties B.V., Iv carried out an assessment of the structural safety of the Ziggo Dome in accordance with NTA 8790. This concert venue accommodates up to 16,800 people and hosts large-scale events. Iv conducted technical inspections and audits with the original designer and analysed the construction dossier for essential structural components.

The assessment was conducted under Consequence Class 3 (CC3) of the Eurocode, meaning it involved a high-risk public structure with the potential to accommodate more than 5,000 people simultaneously. The structure is complex, comprising a concrete basement, walls, and a concrete floor. The roof is a steel structure with full-storey trusses, with sound-insulating floors integrated. Various secondary structures for lighting and sound are also suspended from the roof.
