EVOS Amsterdam West – formerly know as Oiltanking Amsterdam – is one of the largest operators of tank terminals for oil, gas and chemicals. Iv conducts diverse engineering activities and consultancy services for various (brownfield) projects at this important tank terminal directly connected to Schiphol Airport. From conducting feasibility studies on complex issues to detailed engineering for, among other things, upgrades, modifications and expansion of the existing tank terminal, such as expanding the number of tank pits, replacing a pump station or a firefighting project.
The complexity of the multifaceted work at EVOS Amsterdam West lies mainly in the (multidisciplinary) diversity within the dozens of projects that have been carried out at the site. Whilst our advice is sought to assist the client in the project phasing, we are also expected to undertake detailed engineering or especially projects in the study phase. The location also plays a challenging role. Many of the projects at the tank terminal are of a brownfield nature, meaning we have to maximise the use of the limited space available to include every detail. At the same time, we ensure that any adaptation, expansion or renewal of existing assets complies with legislation and regulations and strict industrial safety and process requirements.
A major tank terminal like EVOS Amsterdam West is driven by time. Business operations depend on high availability combined with fast, feasible and sustainable solutions. Optimising and improving processes through high-quality engineering positively impacts the tank terminal’s future viability.
