E&I 3D Designer
Do you want to contribute to renewable offshore energy solutions that truly matter? As an E&I 3D Designer at Iv, you will work on complex and multidisciplinary projects, helping to build the high-voltage offshore substations of tomorrow.
In this role, you will develop the 3D E&I model for large-scale offshore energy platforms. You will model electrical and instrumentation equipment like junction boxes, panels, cabinets, field instruments and lighting fixtures. Using advanced tools such as E3D and Navisworks to ensure every element fits flawlessly. You will route conduits, cable trays, and cables using Cabling System Applications and actively participate in 3D reviews and design checks. As part of your work, you communicate closely with other disciplines to align design inputs, detect clashes and ensure seamless integration. All of this directly contributes to an optimised design of our offshore platforms.
You will be part of Iv’s E&I Design discipline (over 50 colleagues), working in the 3D model team of 18 specialists. Within this team, collaboration is key. You will attend regular model reviews and coordination sessions and report to the E&I 3D Coordinator or the (Deputy) Lead E&I Designer. The team culture is international, open, and professional with short lines of communication and a strong focus on shared success.
A completed MBO-level qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in E&I (3D) design.
Extensive experience with E3D and Navisworks.
Proficient in modelling and routing of electrical and instrumentation equipment, conduits, cable trays, and cabling.
Understanding of multidisciplinary workflows and deliverable requirements.
Hands-on experience using DRAW to generate documents and reports.
Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
Team player with initiative, accuracy, and an eye for quality and safety.
Able to work according to Iv’s quality, health & safety, and information security procedures.
