As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will work on steel and concrete structures that must be able to withstand extreme conditions. Think of offshore wind platforms in the North Sea, mega locks, bridges or heavy industrial installations.
In the offshore sector, you will work on topsides and supporting steel structures for energy platforms. In infrastructure and water engineering, you will design bridges, locks and other structures where safety and durability are key. In industry, you will calculate support structures for factories and heavy installations. And in the maritime sector, you will work on structures for submarines and defence vessels.
You perform calculations on strength, stability and fatigue. You develop designs from concept to detail and test them against international standards. You coordinate with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers and ensure that your construction fits within the overall design.
You work in multidisciplinary project teams on large, complex projects that you can be truly proud of. We love complex issues, but we don’t like to make things difficult. The lines of communication are short and the focus is on content. You will receive guidance from experienced engineers, but you will also be given responsibility for your own work. Would you like to learn more about software such as Ansys, develop in 3D or grow into a coordinating role? Then you will be given the opportunity to do so. This way, you are the CEO of your own position and you actively build your future within Iv.
Higher professional education or university degree in Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or similar
Interest in maritime, offshore, buildings, or infrastructure projects
Strong analytical skills and meticulous
