From naval vessels to offshore installations: as a Structural Designer, you’ll work on structures that are built worldwide and used intensively for many years. You’ll translate technical challenges into smart, manufacturable designs that are safe, strong and practically feasible.
Using 2D and 3D models, you lay the foundations for complex structures. You work closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure that designs are not only technically sound but can actually be built. You think ahead, identify potential issues before they arise and come up with solutions that work in practice.
No two projects are the same. One day you might be working on a defence project, the next on an offshore structure. It is precisely this variety that makes the work interesting. You liaise with colleagues, clients and suppliers, both nationally and internationally, and see how your design becomes a reality step by step.
You’ll be part of project teams consisting of five to fifteen specialists. Within the Structural team, you’ll work alongside two to five designers and engineers. You’ll report to the senior or lead structural designer, who in turn reports to the project manager. The atmosphere is open and pragmatic. You’ll be given plenty of scope to take the initiative, put forward ideas and develop your skills further.
A completed MBO or HBO degree in Naval Architecture or a comparable field.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Structural Designer or in a comparable position.
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems.
Proficiency in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
You work with precision, have strong communication skills, and think in terms of solutions.
You switch easily between different projects and disciplines.
You are flexible, customer-focused, and enjoy collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
