Under the direction of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management, the House of Representatives is kept informed about the transport of hazardous substances by road, water and rail. Iv has been providing the road traffic measurements and reports required for the transport of hazardous substances by road for some time now. Video registrations are made at around 50 locations annually, where ADR signs are automatically recognised and processed anonymously. Iv classifies the registrations into different substance categories and calculates annual intensities, which are then processed into standardised reports for officials and politicians.
Proper monitoring of the transport of hazardous substances requires technical expertise and strict adherence to regulations and protocols. Collecting, processing, and analysing data consistently and accurately is crucial to ensuring safety and informing the relevant authorities.
This long-term project represents Iv’s expertise and growing data collection, analysis and reporting capabilities. By systematically mapping and presenting information on the transport of hazardous substances, Iv contributes to a better understanding of the situation and supports decision-making in safety and mobility.
