IJmuiden Ver is setting a new standard in offshore wind energy development. For the GE-Seatrium Consortium (GSC), Iv is designing a series of platforms with a capacity of 2 gigawatts for TenneT in the North Sea.
These 2-gigawatt platforms will be the first in the world to use 525 kV voltage technology. Iv will address technical and environmental aspects, such as the Lowest Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE) and nature enhancement. The aim is to develop an affordable design that delivers sustainable electricity while enhancing the natural environment.
With a capacity of 2 gigawatts, these platforms can supply around four million homes with green power, equivalent to half of private households in the Netherlands. Moreover, the use of 525 kV voltage technology and the nature-inclusive design will set a new standard for future offshore energy projects. Iv’s technical expertise and involvement in this project contribute to the further development of sustainable electricity in the Netherlands and abroad.
