Cycle route between Hilversum and Amersfoort

An extensive study of options was conducted to develop a new fast cycle route between Hilversum and Amersfoort. This initiative, a collaboration between several municipalities and the province, focused on identifying the most suitable route for cyclists, taking into account aspects such as safety, directness, comfort and attractiveness.

The main challenge in this project was assessing the various route options, whereby each route was thoroughly analysed for road safety, comfort, attractiveness and route experience. The feasibility of each option was also assessed in terms of potential environmental impact, cost considerations and community support.

The fast cycle route aims to create a more efficient and attractive connection between Hilversum and Amersfoort. By improving the infrastructure for cyclists, the project stimulates local mobility and contributes to more sustainable transport in the region. The development of this route reflects the commitment to sustainable and healthy transport alternatives in urban areas.
