The world is facing an enormous challenge: to move to an energy system that emits virtually no CO2. An energy system that guarantees a reliable and affordable supply of sustainable energy. Now and in the future, while the energy demand rises and available space on land and at sea becomes increasingly scarce. Iv has been developing advanced solutions for the offshore and energy sectors for years. We design offshore wind and hydrogen platforms, floating platforms, oil and gas platforms, floating solar farms, tooling and deck equipment, and structures such as electricity pylons. We also provide solutions for platform decommissioning and modification. In short, we offer a wide range of services to the energy and offshore sectors. Iv is a reliable partner in all stages of project development.
Energy and offshore activities require tailored solutions that are strategically and carefully selected. Iv provides advice from the initial feasibility studies to executing all engineering and procurement activities within (EPCI) projects. If required, we can also provide operations and maintenance support. The energy and offshore sector holds no surprises for Iv. We are continuously involved in the latest developments in the market.
Our journey began with oil and gas platforms. And in 2002, Iv designed the very first offshore wind platform. Since then, we have designed many more offshore wind platforms, including the Sofia HVDC platform, the Ostwind and Gennaker platforms and currently, the 2GW IJmuiden Ver platform. We are also engaged in the world’s first offshore hydrogen platform in the North Sea and have designed an innovative floating substation for which we have obtained several patents. We aim to work with our clients to deliver the best solutions to address the complex energy and offshore issues we face as a society.
Over the years, we have built up an impressive track record of projects in the energy and offshore market.
The energy transition demands innovative solutions. The goal of realising 250 GW of floating wind energy by 2050 presents a major challenge in transporting this sustainable energy from sea to land. Iv is playing an essential role in the development of floating offshore substations and the optimisation of cable guiding systems. This article provides insight into the technical and market challenges we are tackling to ensure a sustainable future.
